Turkish American Association for Business held the Annual Dinner at The Houstonian Hotel on February 3, 2005, located 111 North Post Oak Lane, Houston, Texas, 77024. The evening was a great success for TAAB and we thank all our guests especially our Mayor Bill White, Ambassador Ali Arsin and TAAB corporate sponsors who participated in this wonderful event.

The event began with registration and reception at the dining area. Following the introduction and recognition of our corporate sponsors, it was time for a great moment in TAAB’s history of activities. The keynote speaker for the evening was the Executive Officer of the City of Houston, Mayor Bill White.

As the City’s chief administrator and official representative, Mayor Bill White is responsible for the general management of the City and for seeing that all laws and ordinances are enforced.

The Mayor gave the audience a great speech about Houston, the local community, and his insights about Turkey. He shared his experiences with the audience about his stay and business trips to Turkey and stressed the importance of the Turkish community for Houston. Following his speech, Mayor Bill White was kind enough to sit and enjoy the rest of the event with TAAB members at the head table with the Author and Ambassador Ali Arsin and other guests.

TAAB President Huseyin Finci gave the final speech for 2005 review and calendar. The evening was concluded by door prizes ceremony.

This was TAAB’s 3rd Annual Dinner where the two previous keynote speakers included Port of Houston Commissioner, James T. Edmonds at the Petroleum Club and the President and CEO of Sterling Bancshares, J. Downey Bridgewater at the Houstonian which were attended by 200 professionals respectively.
